April 23-26

Dear Prek Parents,
Reminders:
- Every Tuesday Homework is send home. Homework should be back to school on Thursday. Please don’t forget to send the folder back


This week we will continue learning about our abc. We will be working on recognizing the letters with their sound, letter formation, vocabulary of the letter, remember always emphasizing on the short vowel sounds. This week we will be studying about the letter Xx. The vocabulary words for this letter are: xylophone, ax, ox, six, box, fox, mix, x-ray, taxi, wax

Child assigned should take at least five (5) items that they have at home that begin with this letter. Items should be at school on Monday and we will send them back on Friday. For this week we have Sebastian Mendoza 

***Note: On Friday, the assigned students, will have to share eatable things for 20 friends such as letter x cookies, etc. for children to taste. We do this to close our letter unit.

There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, everyone knows the song about the old lady who swallowed a fly, a spider, a bird, and even worse, but who's ever seen what's going on inside the old lady's stomach? With this inventive die-cut artwork, Simms Tabak gives us a rollicking, eye-popping version of the well-loved poem.

In math, will continue working with numbers. We will work with numbers 0-14 on how to represent and identify using tally marks, ten frames, number formation, and name of the number, one-to-one correspondence, and sequencing. We will begin working on Opposite Words: top/bottom, in/out, up/down, clean/dirty, empty/full, day/night, on/off, girl/boy, hot/cold, slow/fast

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “Peter Works with One Hammer”
We are attaching you the link of the videos of this song we will be learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme. Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.

In Science we will  learn the unit about Zoo Animals. We are going to be discussing about some different types of zoo and Wild Animals. Some of the vocabulary words we will be focusing are: lion, gorilla, macaw, monkey, zebra, ostrich, hippo, giraffe, elephant, alligator, snake, peacock.

We have talked to the students that we have started the hot season in Honduras. PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A WATER BOTTLE EVERY DAY. Have them wear light clothes; they can bring a hat to protect from the sun, put sunscreen on their face and arms.
