Reminders:
- Every Tuesday Homework is sent home. Homework should be back to school on Thursday. Please don’t forget to send the folder back
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday's children have Motricity class. We are requesting that please send your child with tennis shoes and with shorts or pants. No skirts and no sandals. This is so that your child can be able to participate in every activity done during the class.
-Please make sure your child is only bringing toys of the letter of the week we are studying. We have been receiving children with toys that do not belong to the letter.

This week we will continue learning about our abc. We will be working on recognizing the letters with their sound, letter formation, vocabulary of the letter, remember always emphasizing on the short vowel sounds. This week we will be studying about the letter Ll. The vocabulary for this letter is: lion, log, lamp, ladder, ladybug, lock, lines, lollipop, lemon, leaf, lobster, legs.

Children assigned should take at least five (5) items that they have at home that begin with this letter. Items should be at school on Monday and we will send them back on Friday. For this week we have William (Prek”A”) and Juwon (Prek”B”).

Note 1: If you would like to share eatable things such as lollipops, lemonade, lemon pie, lychees, lettuce, lasagna, laffy taffy (gummy candies), life savers, lucky charms, etc. for children to taste. It would be awesome if instead of Monday you send it on Friday so that we close up our letter unit.

Note 2: There will always be one student of each section that will be assigned with the letter of the week but, there is a new homework. Every Tuesday some of you will receive a Ziploc bag and you will have to send one thing that fits in the bag that begins with the letter of the week.
Thank you for your support!!

If you haven't send your medium size lock with a key. Please send it by Monday, Nov. 28th. Thank you.

The following link you will find a PowerPoint presentation with the vocabulary, in case you would like to review at home with your child.

This is also a review week. We will be reviewing all content of letters A-L. We will be working with numbers 0 to 10 too.
Here are some links for online games that you can play at home:

Some of the stories we will be reading this week are:
The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle is one of those books that’s packed with all kinds of learning. Learning about time, learning about animals, learning vocabulary, learning about manners, and learning about ways that authors use text to teach.

Lost by David McPhail Adorable story of a young boy that finds a lost a bear and does everything he can to help the bear find its way back home. The boy attempts to use all his resources including a library. Finally when they read the bear's home they waived goodbye but then the little boy realized he was lost now and the bear offered to help him find his home.

In math, will be working with numbers. We will work on how to represent and recognize numbers using tally marks, ten frames, number formation, name of the number, one-to-one correspondence, and sequencing. We will continue working this week with numbers 0-10.

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “Marry had a Little Lamb”
We are attaching you the link of the videos of this song we will be learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme. Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.

In Science we will begin our unit about Five Senses. If you have any books that are related to this topic, we will really appreciate if you let us borrow them from you.

On December 1st we will decorate our Christmas tree.  If you have any decorations or lights that you would like to share with our class please send them in. We will return all the decorations in January. Also, if you have any books that are related to the winter holiday's (Hanukkah, Kwanzaa & Christmas) we would love to read them in class. Please send them with your child, we will be displaying them in our book corner

Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) is an international organization that takes in abandoned and orphaned children, providing a home and education. Here in Honduras, the NPH organization provides for over 500 children in at large ranch near La Venta and home in Tegucigalpa for severely handicapped children. While many children at the ranch have aunts, uncles, or grandparents that come to visit them and can provide some Christmas gifts, some children at a ranch have no family to visit. It is these children, whom we would like to provide for this Christmas. In the main office, a NPH Giving Tree will be set up. If you wish to participate, choose a paper tree that has a child’s information about his/her size for shoes and socks.
Purchase the new items and return them to Mrs. Agurcia’s Room (Rm. 7) by Wednesday, December 7th, unwrapped, with the tree tag taped to it. Thank you for giving this Christmas!
If more information about NPH’s work in Honduras, please visit http://www.nph-honduras.org/ and watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYC2A5njQTk

Our annual Christmas bazaar is taking soon! For additional information if you´d like to participate send an email to discovery.bazaar@gmail.com
