This week we will be studying about the letter Nn. The vocabulary for this letter is: nurse, necklace, notebook, net, noodles, nut, nose, night, nail, nap, nest, nine.

Child assigned should take at least five (5) items that they have at home that begin with this letter. Items should be at school on Tuesday and we will send them back on Friday. For this week we have Nahomy Nuñez.
Note: If you would like to share eatable things such as nut, noodles, nachos, nuggets, nerds, nesquik, nutella, etc. for children to taste. It would be awesome if instead of Monday you send it on Friday so that we close up our letter unit.
Thank you for your support!!

The following link you will find a PowerPoint presentation with the vocabulary, in case you would like to review at home with your child.

For  Tuesday  Jan. 22nd , please send one newspaper   or  a   magazine..  Thank you!

Some of the stories we will be reading this week are:

The Napping House by Audrey Woods Included in the napping house menagerie is a dozing dog, a snoozing cat, a slumbering mouse, and a wakeful flea who ends up toppling the whole sleep heap with one chomp! Don Wood’s delightfully detailed comical illustrations are bathed in moonlight blues until the sun comes up, then all is color and rainbows and a very awake household.

Noisy Nora by Rosemary Wells It's tough being the middle mouse. No one's paying any attention to Nora, so she decides to do something her family can't ignore: make noise. Nora slams windows, bangs doors, and upsets furniture, to no avail. It's not until she crashes out the door--and the house goes strangely silent--that her family realizes: a noisy Nora is much better than no Nora at all. "A wonderful story."

In math, will continue working with numbers. We will  0-10 on how to represent and recognize numbers using tally marks, ten frames, number formation, name of the number, one-to-one correspondence, and sequencing.

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “1, 2, buckle my shoe”
We are attaching you the link of the videos of this song we will be learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme. Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.

In Social Studies we will begin our amazing the unit about Community Helpers. We are going to be discussing the different types of professions.  Children will get the chance to name the tools, transportations and what does each of the professions do. Some of the vocabulary words we will be focusing are: hair stylist, firefighter, policeman, doctor, vet, nurse, builder, chef, farmer, teacher, mailman, dentist.  I Children can bring any of these transportation and community helper’s objects they have at home to share and play we will send them two weeks.
