Week of Nov. 20 - 24

Dear Prek Parents,
This is going to be a very short week. We are going to be mainly talking about Thanksgiving Celebration and the meaning of this holiday. We will list things that we should be thankful for. If you have any books that are related to this holiday, we will really appreciate if you let us borrow them from you.

We will also be reviewing letters A to K. We will be working on recognizing the letters with their sound, letter formation, vocabulary of the letter, remember always emphasizing on the short vowel sounds.

When we come back from our thanksgiving holiday, we will be working with the letter L. For this, we need to start preparing some material we need. We are requesting for each child to bring 1 medium size lock with a key. Please send it by Tuesday, Nov. 28th. Thank you.

In math, will be working with numbers. We will work on how to represent and recognize numbers using tally marks, ten frames, number formation, name of the number, one-to-one correspondence, and sequencing. We will continue working this week with numbers 0-10.

For our Thanksgiving celebration we will be doing a “Thanksgiving Brunch” at 9:30 am. Thank you for the support of the parents helping on this Brunch.

MIDTERM REPORTS – Midterm reports were issued last Friday, November 17th. These should be signed by parents and returned to the teacher as soon as possible. If you would like a conference and one was not requested by the teacher, please call the school to set up an appointment.

In Prekindergarten we teach our students about sharing and helping. “Angelitos Del Dia” is a perfect way to help show our kids just how easy this can be and how we can make a difference in our community.
"Angelitos del Dia" helps out newborn babies born at Materno Infantil here in Tegucigalpa. They provide moms with newborn essentials (blankets, pajamas, socks, hats, wash cloths, towels, diapers, baby wipes, baby soap and baby shampoo).
Your child is taking home a bag that you can use to put your donations in.
A great way to get your child involved is to go through their baby clothes and have them choose items they would like to donate. Xtra and Emporio are also great places to shop for baby items. Please feel free to donate as many items as you wish.
Please send the bags back in by Wednesday, December 6th.
Thank you!!
