March 25- 29

Reminders:
- Every Tuesday Homework is send home. Homework should be back to school on Thursday. Please don’t forget to send the folder back



This week we will continue learning about our abc. We will be working on recognizing the letters with their sound, letter formation, vocabulary of the letter, remember always emphasizing on the short vowel sounds. This week we will be studying about the letter Uu. The vocabulary words for this letter are: under, umbrella, up, upset, upside down, underwear, udder, uncle, umpire

Children assigned should take at least five (5) items that they have at home that begin with this letter. Items should be at school on Monday and we will send them back on Friday. For this week we have Gaia Reyes .

***Note: On Friday, the assigned student, will have to share eatable things for 19 friends such as letter u cookies, umbrella cookies, etc. for children to taste. We do this to close our letter unit.

Some of the stories we will be reading this week are:
Ten Apples Up on Top, by Dr. Seuss, This delightful book forms part of the second stage in HarperCollins’ major Dr. Seuss rebrand programme. With the relaunch of 10 more titles in August 2003, such all-time favourites as How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? and Dr. Seuss’ Sleep Book boast bright new covers that incorporate much needed guidance on reading levels: Blue Back Books are for parents to share with young children, Green Back Books are for budding readers to tackle on their own, and Yellow Back Books are for older, more fluent readers to enjoy. Ten Apples Up on Top belongs to the Green Back Book range.

In math, will continue working with numbers. We will work with numbers 0-13 on how to represent and identify using tally marks, ten frames, number formation, and name of the number, one-to-one correspondence, and sequencing. We will begin working on Positional Words: top, bottom, up, down, in front of, behind, over, under and next to.

We would like your support on occasionally review counting and numbers. Here are some songs we use in class every day:

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive”

We are attaching you the link of the videos of this song we will be learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme. Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.

In Science we will begin the unit about Ocean Animals. We are going to learning and discussing Ocean life and animals that live in the Ocean. The different between Ocean animals and no Ocean Animals. Some of the vocabulary words we will be focusing are: octopus, fish, seahorse, whale, seaturtle, shark, starfish, jellyfish, crab, dolphin, shrimp, shell. If you have any books or posters, ideas or any other material that you would like to share with us it would be greatly appreciated.

Easter Celebration is just around the corner. We need your support for this day with 12 plastic eggs and a basket (the size of the basket has to be enough so that the 12 eggs fit in it). 
This coming Friday is a half day. The students 

go home at 11:45.
