Week of Mar. 19-23


Dear Prek Parents,
We hope daddies had an awesome time in their celebration!

Reminders:
- Every Tuesday Homework is send home. Homework should be back to school on Thursday. Please don’t forget to send the folder back
-On Tuesday we send a Ziploc Bag home in the folder, so that you can send things that begin with the letter of the week.
-Please make sure your child is only bringing toys of the letter of the week we are studying. We have been receiving children with toys that do not belong to the letter.

This week we will continue learning about our abc. We will be working on recognizing the letters with their sound, letter formation, vocabulary of the letter, remember always emphasizing on the short vowel sounds. This week we will be studying about the letter Tt. The vocabulary words for this letter are: tiger, triangle, tape, tent, turtle, train, tub, truck, toys, top, ten, tie.

Children assigned should take at least five (5) items that they have at home that begin with this letter. Items should be at school on Monday and we will send them back on Friday. For this week we have Angelique (Prek”A”) and Wady(Prek”B”).

***Note: On THURSDAY, the assigned students, will have to share eatable things for 22 friends such as tacos, iced tea, tomato, tangarine, toast. for children to taste. We do this to close our letter unit.

In math, will continue working with numbers. We will work with numbers 0-13 on how to represent and identify using tally marks, ten frames, number formation, and name of the number, one-to-one correspondence, and sequencing.

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “I’m a Little Teapot
We are attaching you the link of the videos of this song we will be learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme. Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.

In Social Studies we will continue the unit about Easter. We are going to learning and discussing about the Easter Holiday. Some of the vocabulary words we will be focusing are: bunny, easter eggs, flowers, chocolates, chick, basket, lamb. If you have any books or posters, ideas or any other material that you would like to share with us it would be greatly appreciated.

We have talked to the students that we have started the hot season in Honduras. PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A WATER BOTTLE EVERY DAY. Have them wear light clothes; they can bring a hat to protect from the sun, put sunscreen on their face and arms.

Easter Celebration is just around the corner. We will celebrate Easter on Friday, March 23rd at BCIE Club. We need your support for this day with 12 plastic eggs and a basket (the size of the basket must be enough so that the 12 eggs fit in it). We will be leaving school at 8:20 am and coming back to school at 11:15am.

During the Easter celebration, we will be having water games. Please send water guns or water balloons, or any other water toy to play on this day.

L. 100 – Easter Celebration, Playground Rent, Snack (chicken fingers and French fries with juice brought at BCIE Club) and Candies

Week of Mar. 12-16

This week is Evaluation Week of all the concepts we’ve learned this 3rd quarter. Which are:
  • Letters M-S (name, identify, write, sound of the letter and at least 5 vocab words of each letter)
  • Numbers 0-12 (name, identify, write, sequence, make set)
  • Writing their first name
  • Fine Motor Skills: Cut, Glue, Pencil grip, Coloring inside the lines

Some of the vocabulary words we will be focusing are: cockroach, butterfly, caterpillar, beetle, fly, mosquito, dragonfly, ants, ladybug, grasshopper, bee, stick insect. If you have any books or posters, ideas or any other material that you would like to share with us it would be greatly appreciated.

Easter Celebration is just around the corner. We will celebrate Easter on Friday, March 23rd at BCIE Club. We need your support for this day with 12 plastic eggs and a basket (the size of the basket has to be enough so that the 12 eggs fit in it). We will be leaving school at 8:20 am and coming back to school at 11:15am.

For these 2 activities (Father’s Day and Easter) we are requesting L. 300 which will be used as follows:
L. 150 – Father’s Day Gift
L. 50 – Father and Child breakfast
L. 100 – Easter Celebration, Playground Rent, Snack (chicken fingers and French fries with juice brought at BCIE Club) and Candies
Please send the money to school by Monday, March 12th

The outfit for Father’s Day Show is 70 Coco’s Movie outfit.
We are not demanding that you must buy an outfit, try to use what you have at home, and try to recreate Coco's Movie look inspired on the pictures below.
