Dear Prek Parents,
Dr. Seuss has
a collection of more than 50 books and we would really like the children to be
exposed to most them. This week, we will be doing an author study about him and
we will celebrate his 104th birthday. To honor Dr. Seuss’ birthday,
we will be doing many different activities throughout the following week. Here
is the dress-up calendar for this week:
Monday, Feb. 26th – “The Cat in the Hat”
Hat and Tie day
Tuesday, Feb. 27th – “Fox in Socks”
Wacky Socks day (wear crazy socks)
Wednesday, Feb. 28th – “Wacky Wednesday”
Wacky Wednesday (Wear mismatched
clothes, clothes backwards, inside-out, etc.
)
Thursday, March 1st – “If I Ran the Zoo”
Wear Animal Print
Friday, March 2nd – “Happy Birthday to you!”
Dr Seuss colors (white, black, red) or
Thing 1 and Thing 2 clothes (red, blue and white)
Reminders:
- Every Tuesday Homework is send home. Homework should be back to school
on Thursday. Please don’t forget to send the folder back
-On Tuesday we send a Ziploc Bag home in the folder, so that you can
send things that begin with the letter of the week.
-Please make sure your child is
only bringing toys of the letter of the week we are studying. We have been
receiving children with toys that do not belong to the letter.
This week we will continue learning about our abc. We will be working on
recognizing the letters with their sound, letter formation, vocabulary of the
letter, remember always emphasizing on the short vowel sounds. This week we
will be studying about the letter Ss. The vocabulary words for this letter are: scissors, snail,
six, spider, snacke, socks, sun, submarine, seahorse, sandals, sandwich, seal
Children assigned should take at least five (5) items that they have at
home that begin with this letter. Items should be at school on Monday and we
will send them back on Friday. For this week we have Mateo (Prek”A”) and Sophia D.(Prek”B”).

We would like your support on occasionally review the ABC’s letter names
and sound. Here are some songs we use in class every day.
Some of the stories we will be reading this week are:
Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs, Snow White's stepmother, the queen, is jealous of the girl's beauty and
sends her way to the forest, where she is found by the seven dwarfs. Finally,
the wicked queen puts the girl into an everlasting sleep. But Snow White is
awakened by a kiss from a handsome prince and lives happily ever after.
In math, will continue working with numbers. We will work with numbers 0-12 on how to represent and identify
using tally marks, ten frames, number formation, and name of the number,
one-to-one correspondence, and sequencing. We will also be working with Graphing. Children will be able to
represent a number of objects on a graph.
We would like your support on occasionally review counting and numbers.

Our Nursery Rhyme this week is: “Oh
Mr. Sun”
We are attaching you the link of the videos of this song we will be
learning throughout the week. We will learn two versions of this nursery rhyme.
Just a little tip to have fun at home listening and acting out our song.
We have talked to the students that we have started the hot season in
Honduras. PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH
A WATER BOTTLE EVERY DAY. Have them wear light clothes; they can bring a
hat to protect from the sun, put sunscreen on their face and arms.
