This week we will continue learning about our abc. We will be working on recognizing the letters with their sound, letter formation, vocabulary of the letter, remember always emphasizing on the short vowel sounds. This week we will be studying about the letter Gg. The vocabulary for this letter is: gate, guitar, grass, goat, green, glue, game, gum, gorilla, girl, goose, grapes
A child will be assigned each week with each letter. In this case, the child assigned should take at least five (5) items that they have at home that begin with this letter. Items should be at school on Monday and we will send them back on Friday. For this week we have Guillermo Ponce .
***Note: On Thursday, the assigned students, will have to share for 17 friends eatable things such as grapes, gummy bears, guacamole, green candies, letter Gg cookies, etc. for children to taste. We do this to close our letter unit.
The following link you will find a PowerPoint presentation with the vocabulary, in case you would like to review at home with your child.
We are attaching links of some of Letter Gg videos if you would like to listen and sing at home with your kid:

Some of the stories we will be reading this week are:
Goldiclocks and the Three Bears, by James Marshall We never tire of the fairy tale adaptations by James Marshall. This is a special favorite because the main character is so unlike the Goldilocks we’ve met in other versions. “Goldilocks was one of those naughty little girls who do whatever they please.” Ignoring warning signs posted all over the trees, Goldilocks takes a short cut right to the bears’ house. Kids will giggle when she enters their home to find fur everywhere and thinks,“They must have kitties.”
Good Night, Gorilla, by Peggy Rathman Here’s another favorite book, perfect for bedtime. The zookeeper says good night to all the zoo animals, but the mischievous gorilla follows behind and unlocks all the cages. With very few words, the pictures tell most of the story
In math, will be working with numbers. We will work on how to represent and recognize numbers using tally marks, ten frames, name of the number, one-to-one correspondence. We will begin working this week with numbers 0-8, missing numbers. We will also be working on sorting items that are big, medium and small.
We would like your support on occasionally review counting and
numbers. Here are some songs we use in class every day:
