Week of May 29- June 2

Dear Prek Parents,

Our last post for this school year. This is going to be a bittersweet week. It is time to say goodbye to our lovely students but at the same time we know that they are ready to move on in their lives. They are all excited to go to Kindergarten… Hooray!!! We will devote this week to have fun.

This week we will be learning fun facts about dinosaurs. If you have any dinosaur toys at home. Please send them over.

We will also be wrapping up the evaluations.

The “End of the Year Party” will be the last school day, June 2nd. We are planning on making a “Water Party” at school. We will fill up 2 pools. We will have water balloons and children will have to bring water toys to play with their friends. Children are allowed to bring water guns, water balloons and any other type of water game you have. Please send some extra clothing for this day. Children have to bring something for snack to share with their friends on this day, we will be sending a note home with what we need you to send. Thank you.

We would like to thank you for being such supportive parents. It has definitely been one of the best group of parents and kids that we have ever worked with. Please never stop being so supportive with your kids’ school and teachers. Without you it would have been impossible to make many activities that we planned. We really are aware of all your help and thank you again for that.

Diego Rivera is turning 5 this Tuesday, May 30th. He will be sharing with us some cake, juice and pizza. Do not send Snack for this day.

Some of the stories we will be reading this week are:
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr.,The 26 characters in this rhythmic, rhyming baby book are a lowercase alphabet with attitude. "A told b, and b told c, 'I'll meet you at the top of the coconut tree'"--which probably seemed like a good idea until the other 23 members of the gang decided to follow suit. The palm tree standing straight and tall on the first page begins to groan and bend under its alphabetical burden. First the coconuts fall off, then ("Chicka chicka... BOOM! BOOM!") all the letters also end up in a big heap underneath.

If you have any magazines at home that you do not need at all. Please send them over to your kid’s classroom. They are very welcome. Thank you.
